Extension/new building Bay 2009 Schwab-Guillod AG

Schwab-Guillod AG active in the fruit and vegetables trade is expanding its business at Müntschemier (BE).

On the newly acquired site alongside existing Bay 2000, a new building is being erected for the storage and processing of vegetable products. The dimensions of the 3 storey hall are 33x103x12 m. Basements are provided over the entire area reaching down around 5.5 m in to the soil and hence to the ground water level, so necessitating an appropriate design structure.

The bay contains the necessary delivery ramps, new cloakroom facilities and a staff restaurant. With a metal façade reduced to the simplest functional architectonic statement the appearance of the extension is intended to express the straightforward and self-evident purpose of a contemporary industrial bay.
